You didn't know you had options, now you do; exploring them sounds like a good thing to do. Nothing says that exploring your options necessarily means you won't go back to the first plan. And if the plan changes? No laziness there, but a conscious choice made by considering all of the info available to you. (I hope this doesn't sound like the advice you don't want; those were simply the thoughts that came up while I was reading your post.
